Packed with finely chopped vegetables and a hint of sweetness, they are perfect for parties, family gatherings, or a simple evening treat. Easy to prepare and incredibly satisfying, these vegetable balls are sure to be a hit with everyone.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cabbage, finely chopped
  • 1 cup carrot, shredded and finely chopped
  • ½ cup celery, finely chopped
  • ¾ cup flour
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 liter oil (for frying)
  • 2-3 tablespoons water (adjust depending on the moisture from the vegetables)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Vegetables
  • Finely chop the cabbage, shred and finely chop the carrots, and finely chop the celery.
  1. Mix the Ingredients
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped cabbage, carrots, and celery.
  • Add the flour, salt, and sugar to the vegetables. Mix well.
  • Gradually add water, 1 tablespoon at a time, and mix until the ingredients form a thick batter. The vegetables will release some moisture, so adjust the water amount accordingly.
  1. Form the Balls
  • Using your hands or a spoon, shape the mixture into small balls, about the size of a walnut. Ensure they are compact and hold together well.
  1. Heat the Oil
  • Pour the oil into a deep frying pan or pot and heat it over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). You can test the oil temperature by dropping a small piece of the mixture into the oil; if it sizzles and rises to the surface, the oil is ready.
  1. Fry the Vegetable Balls
  • Carefully place a few vegetable balls into the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry in batches if necessary.
  • Fry the balls for about 3-4 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy on the outside.
  • Use a slotted spoon to remove the fried vegetable balls from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
  1. Serve
  • Serve the deep-fried vegetable balls hot, with your favorite dipping sauce.

Conclusion

These Deep-Fried Vegetable Balls are a crispy, delicious way to enjoy a variety of vegetables. The combination of cabbage, carrots, and celery, seasoned with a hint of sugar and salt, creates a savory and slightly sweet flavor profile that is irresistible. Perfect for any occasion, these vegetable balls are sure to please a crowd.
