  • 1 teaspoon Cracked black pepper Use white pepper for a milder flavor
  • 0.5 teaspoon Crushed red pepper flakes Optional

For the Gravy

  • 0.5 cups All-purpose flour Gluten-free flour works as well
  • 2 tablespoons Avocado or vegetable oil Any neutral oil can be used
  • 2 tablespoons Unsalted butter Margarine can be used as a substitute
  • 1 medium White onion Yellow onion or shallots are alternatives
  • 2 cloves Garlic cloves Garlic powder can be used if needed
  • 2 cups Chicken stock Vegetable stock can be used for a vegetarian option
  • 1 cup Heavy cream Half and half can serve as a lighter substitute

  • Start by seasoning the chicken thighs with seasoning salt, garlic powder, paprika, and cracked black pepper. Let sit for about 15 minutes.
  • In a bowl, combine all-purpose flour with extra spices. Set aside.
  • Heat oil in the pan over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken thighs skin-side down for 5-7 minutes.
  • Remove excess oil and add butter, onion, and garlic. Stir until fragrant. Add seasoned flour and stir for a minute.
  • Gradually whisk in chicken stock, thickening the mixture. Nestle the chicken into the gravy, cover, and bake at 400°F for 45 minutes.
  • Serve the chicken with the gravy over it and enjoy!

Notes
