Ingredients
  

For the Dough:

  • 3 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
  • ½ cup warm milk 110°F/45°C
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 egg room temperature
  • ½ teaspoon salt

For the Strawberry Filling:

  • 1 ½ cups fresh strawberries diced
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Cream Cheese Filling:

  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
 

Prepare the Dough:

  • In a small bowl, mix the yeast into the warm milk and allow it to rest for approximately 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and salt. Add the yeast mixture, melted butter, and egg, then stir until a soft dough is formed.
  • Transfer the dough to a floured countertop and knead for about 5 to 7 minutes until it achieves a smooth and elastic texture.
  • Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm area for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.

Make the Strawberry Filling:

  • In a tiny saucepan, mix together the chopped strawberries, granulated sugar, cornstarch, and vanilla extract.
  • Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the mixture thickens and becomes jam-like, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and let cool.

Make the Cream Cheese Filling:

  • In a medium-sized bowl, whip together the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth and creamy.

Assemble the Sweet Rolls:

  • Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a lightly floured surface into a large rectangle (about 12x16 inches).
  • Evenly spread the cream cheese mixture over the dough, making sure to leave a small border around the edges.
  • Spread the cooled strawberry filling on top of the cream cheese layer.
  • Beginning at the longer side, gently roll the dough into a compact log. Slice the log into 12 equal portions.

Bake the Rolls:

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Arrange the rolls in a greased 9x13-inch baking dish, cover them, and allow them to rise for an additional 30 minutes.
  • Bake the rolls in the heated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until they are golden brown on top.

Make the Glaze:

  • In a small bowl, combine the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract, whisking until the mixture is smooth and well blended.

Glaze and Serve:

  • Drizzle the glaze over the warm rolls. Serve immediately and enjoy the sweet, creamy, and fruity goodness!
