Ingredients
  

Ground Turkey and Vegetables

  • 1 pound lean ground turkey
  • 1 ½ teaspoons fresh ginger minced
  • 3 cloves garlic finely minced
  • 2 cups coleslaw mix
  • 2 green onions sliced
  • Cooked rice or noodles for serving
  • Hoisin sauce and sesame seeds to drizzle and sprinkle on top as a flavorful garnish.

Sauce

  • cup water
  • cup of beef broth or chicken broth for added depth and richness in flavor.
  • ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha adjust to taste
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together water, beef or chicken broth, soy sauce, brown sugar, sriracha, sesame oil, and cornstarch until smooth. Set aside.
  • Cook the Turkey: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground turkey, breaking it up with a spatula until browned and fully cooked. Add minced ginger and garlic, cooking for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  • Add Coleslaw Mix: Stir in the coleslaw mix and cook for 2-3 minutes until the cabbage is slightly softened but still crisp.
  • Add the Sauce: Pour the prepared sauce over the turkey and vegetables. Stir and let simmer for 2-3 minutes, until the sauce has thickened and coats the turkey and veggies evenly.
  • Assemble Bowls: Serve the sesame ground turkey mixture over a bed of cooked rice or noodles. Garnish with sliced green onions, a drizzle of hoisin sauce, and a sprinkle of sesame seeds.
  • Serve: Enjoy warm, adjusting sriracha or soy sauce to taste if desired.
