Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 large onion thinly sliced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water

  • Prepare the Beef Patties: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, egg, breadcrumbs, salt, black pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix until all ingredients are evenly combined.
  • Cook the Patties: Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the beef patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until browned and cooked through.
  • Sauté the Onions: In the same skillet, add the sliced onions. Sauté for 5-6 minutes over medium heat, stirring frequently, until they are softened and caramelized.
  • Make the Gravy: Pour in the beef broth, scraping the bottom of the skillet to release any browned bits for added flavor. In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with water to create a slurry, then stir it into the skillet. Simmer the mixture for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the gravy thickens.
  • Combine and Serve: Return the beef patties to the skillet, spooning the gravy and onions over them. Let the patties simmer in the gravy for another 2-3 minutes to soak up the flavors. Serve hot, paired with mashed potatoes, rice, or your favorite side dish.
