Ingredients
  

For the Chicken

  • 2 breasts boneless, skinless chicken sliced turkey or shrimp can be used as a substitute

For the Pasta

  • 8 oz linguine pasta fettuccine or spaghetti can be used

For the Sauce

  • 2 tbsp olive oil essential for browning chicken
  • 1 tbsp butter adds richness; swap for plant-based butter for dairy-free
  • 4 cloves garlic freshly minced
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard adds tanginess
  • 1 tsp paprika provides smoky note
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes optional, adjust for heat
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice brightens the dish
  • 1/2 tbsp lemon zest from half a lemon

For the Finishing Touches

  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley chopped for garnish
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth or reserved pasta water
  • 1 cup heavy cream coconut cream for dairy-free version
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese vegan cheese can replace
  • to taste salt essential seasoning
  • to taste black pepper essential seasoning

Instructions
 

Cooking Steps

  • Cook a large pot of salted water to a boil, then add linguine pasta and cook until al dente, about 9-11 minutes. Reserve 1 cup pasta water before draining.
  • Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add chicken breasts, season with salt and pepper, and cook until golden brown, about 6-8 minutes per side. Remove and let rest.
  • In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of butter and minced garlic. Sauté for 1 minute, then stir in Dijon mustard, paprika, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  • Pour in heavy cream and chicken broth, stirring well. Simmer for 3-4 minutes until slightly thickened. Adjust consistency with reserved pasta water if needed.
  • Slice the cooked chicken, return it to the skillet with the sauce, and add drained linguine. Toss until well coated, using reserved pasta water as necessary.
  • Garnish with chopped parsley and grated parmesan cheese, then serve immediately.
