- Thick-cut bacon – 4 slices chopped
- Button mushrooms – 16 oz sliced
- 1.5 pounds of fresh green beans ends trimmed
- Garlic cloves – 4 minced
- Kosher salt and freshly cracked black pepper – adjust according to your preference
Cook the Bacon: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the chopped bacon and cook until it’s crispy, about 6-8 minutes. Use a slotted spoon to remove the bacon and set it aside, leaving the bacon drippings in the skillet.
Sauté the Mushrooms: In the same skillet with the bacon drippings, add the sliced mushrooms. Sauté for 5-6 minutes or until they’re golden brown and tender. Remove the mushrooms and set them aside with the bacon.
Cook the Green Beans: Add the green beans to the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally until they start to become tender. If you prefer softer beans, add a splash of water, cover the skillet, and steam for an additional 2-3 minutes.
Add Garlic and Seasoning: Add the minced garlic to the skillet and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring frequently until fragrant. Return the cooked bacon and mushrooms to the skillet, mixing them with the green beans.
Season and Serve: Season with sea salt and black pepper to taste, toss everything together, and cook for another 1-2 minutes to heat through. Serve immediately.
