Ingredients
  

Stir Fry Sauce

  • ¼ cup low sodium soy sauce
  • ¼ cup rice wine
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 tbsp mirin
  • ¼ tsp red pepper flakes
  • ½ tsp sesame oil

Cabbage Stir Fry

  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 lb ground turkey or ground chicken
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp grated ginger or ginger paste
  • 1 medium onion thinly sliced
  • 4 medium carrots peeled and shredded
  • 1 small head of green cabbage thinly shredded
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 2 green onions thinly sliced for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the Stir Fry Sauce : In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, rice wine, rice vinegar, mirin, red pepper flakes, and sesame oil. Set the sauce aside.
  • Cook the Ground Turkey : In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Stir in the ground turkey (or chicken) and cook, using a spoon to break it apart, until it’s browned and fully cooked, about 5 minutes. Season with a dash of salt and pepper, then transfer the cooked turkey to a plate and set it aside.
  • Sauté Aromatics and Vegetables : In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Toss in the minced garlic and freshly grated ginger, cooking for about a minute until their aromas are released. Then, add the sliced onion and cook for 2-3 minutes, allowing it to soften. Stir in the shredded carrots and cabbage, mixing everything together, and season with a touch of salt and pepper.
  • Add Sauce and Combine : Pour the stir fry sauce over the vegetables and stir well to coat. Return the cooked ground turkey to the skillet, tossing everything together until the vegetables are tender-crisp and the sauce is well distributed (about 3–4 minutes).
  • Garnish and Serve : Remove the skillet from the heat and garnish with thinly sliced green onions. Dish up the stir fry on its own, or serve it atop a bed of rice or alongside noodles for a complete meal. Enjoy!
