For the Steak:
- 1.5 lbs 24 oz sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
For the Broccoli:
- 4 cups fresh broccoli florets about 1 large head
- 2 tablespoons water
For the Lemon Garlic Butter Sauce:
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 garlic cloves minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley chopped, for garnish (optional)
Prepare the Steak : In a large bowl, combine the steak pieces with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Toss until the steak is evenly coated with the seasonings.
Sear the Steak : Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steak bites in a single layer (cook in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding). Sear for 2-3 minutes on each side until browned and cooked to your desired doneness. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
Cook the Broccoli : In the same skillet, add the broccoli florets and 2 tablespoons of water. Cover with a lid and steam for 3-4 minutes until the broccoli is tender but still crisp. Remove the broccoli and set aside with the steak.
Make the Lemon Garlic Butter Sauce : Lower the heat to medium and add the butter to the skillet. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant. Stir in the fresh lemon juice, lemon zest, and red pepper flakes (if using). Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Combine and Serve : Return the steak and broccoli to the skillet, tossing them in the lemon garlic butter sauce until evenly coated. Cook for an additional 2 minutes to reheat everything. Remove from heat and garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve hot on its own or over rice, pasta, or mashed potatoes.
