  • 4 pieces of fresh cod fillets totaling approximately 1.5 pounds (680 grams)

Lemon Garlic Butter:

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter melted (42 g)
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 lemon zested and juiced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Optional Garnish:

  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley chopped
  • Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a baking dish by either greasing it lightly or lining it with parchment paper.
  • Prepare the Butter Mixture: In a tiny bowl, whisk together the melted butter, crushed garlic, zest of a lemon, fresh lemon juice, oregano, dried parsley, and season with salt and pepper. Stir thoroughly until the mixture is smooth and evenly blended.
  • Season the Cod: Gently blot the cod fillets with a paper towel to absorb any excess moisture. Place them in the prepared baking dish, spaced evenly.
  • Add the Flavor: Spoon the lemon garlic butter mixture evenly over each fillet, ensuring they are well coated.
  • Bake the Cod: Transfer the baking dish to the oven and cook for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the cod turns opaque and effortlessly flakes apart when tested with a fork. Cooking time may vary depending on the thickness of the fillets.
  • Garnish and Serve: Remove the cod from the oven and sprinkle with fresh parsley if desired. Dish out the cod right away, accompanied by fresh lemon wedges to add a zesty kick
