Ingredients

  • Cooking spray
  • 2 8-ounce packages refrigerated crescent roll dough (such as Pillsbury® Recipe Creations®), divided
  • 2 lemons zested and juiced, divided
  • 2 8-ounce packages cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup white sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter melted
  • 3 tablespoons white sugar

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven : Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly coat a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  • Prepare the Crust : Roll out one package of crescent roll dough and press it evenly into the bottom of the prepared dish to create the base crust.
  • Make the Filling : In a large mixing bowl, beat together the cream cheese, ½ cup sugar, lemon juice, and lemon zest (reserve some zest for garnish) until smooth and creamy.
  • Assemble the Bars : Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the base crust. Roll out the second package of crescent roll dough and place it over the cream cheese filling, gently pressing to create the top layer.
  • Add the Topping : Brush the top dough layer with melted butter and sprinkle with the remaining 3 tablespoons of sugar for a sweet and crispy finish.
  • Bake : Bake in the preheated oven for 25–30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the filling is set.
  • Cool and Serve : Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before slicing into squares. Garnish with reserved lemon zest for an extra pop of flavor.
