Ingredients

  • 3 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 cup chopped white onion
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 3 cups broccoli florets chopped small
  • 1 cup honey garlic sauce store-bought or homemade
  • 4 cups of cooked rice for serving alongside.

Instructions

  • Prepare the Ingredients: Chop the white onion into small pieces and mince the garlic cloves. Chop the broccoli florets into small, bite-sized pieces to ensure even cooking.
  • Cook the Ground Beef: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the lean ground beef and cook for 5-7 minutes, breaking it apart with a spoon as it cooks, until it's browned and cooked through. Drain any excess fat from the skillet if necessary.
  • Sauté the Aromatics: Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet with the ground beef. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes, or until the onion turns translucent and the garlic releases its aroma.
  • Cook the Broccoli: Add the chopped broccoli florets to the skillet. Stir well to combine with the beef and onion mixture. Cook for about 4-5 minutes, or until the broccoli is tender-crisp. If needed, add a splash of water and cover the skillet to steam the broccoli for a couple of minutes.
  • Add the Honey Garlic Sauce: Pour the honey garlic sauce over the beef and broccoli mixture. Stir well to coat everything evenly in the sauce. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together and the sauce to slightly thicken.
  • Serve: Remove the skillet from heat and serve the honey garlic ground beef and broccoli over a bed of cooked rice.
