Salmon:
- 24 oz salmon fillets about 3-4 fillets
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- Salt to taste
- 2 tablespoons butter
Honey Glaze:
- 3 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce or tamari sauce
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon lime juice freshly squeezed, or use lemon juice
- 1/4 cup fig spread Divina brand recommended
Prepare the Salmon: Gently blot the salmon fillets with a paper towel to remove excess moisture. Season each fillet lightly with salt and set aside.
Make the Honey Glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, lime juice, and fig spread until smooth and well combined.
Sear the Salmon: Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the butter. Once the butter is melted and sizzling, add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
Cook the Salmon: Arrange the salmon fillets in the skillet, ensuring the skin side is facing down if they are skinned. Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the salmon is golden brown and nearly cooked through.
Add the Glaze: Pour the honey fig glaze over the salmon, spooning it over each fillet to coat evenly. Let the glaze simmer around the salmon for an additional 3-5 minutes, allowing it to thicken and caramelize slightly. Baste the salmon with the glaze as it reduces.
Serve: Remove the salmon from the heat and spoon any remaining glaze over the top. Serve immediately with your choice of sides, such as roasted vegetables, rice, or a fresh salad.
