Ingredients

For the Beef:

  • 450 g ground beef
  • 3 cloves garlic minced (approx. 9g)
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger approx. 6g
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce 30ml
  • 2 tablespoons honey 42g
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil 15ml
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar 15ml
  • ½ teaspoon red chili flakes optional, for heat

For the Rice Bowl:

  • 300 g cooked white or brown rice
  • 1 medium carrot shredded (approx. 60g)
  • 1 small cucumber thinly sliced (approx. 100g)
  • 2 green onions finely chopped (approx. 20g)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds 8g
  • Fresh coriander or parsley for garnish optional

Instructions

  • Cook the Beef: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sesame oil. Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes. Toss the garlic and ginger into the skillet, cooking for 1-2 minutes until aromatic. Then, add the soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, and red chili flakes (if desired). Let the mixture simmer for 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly and envelop the beef.
  • Prepare the Rice Bowl : Divide the cooked rice evenly into serving bowls. Arrange the shredded carrot, sliced cucumber, and green onions on top of the beef.
  • Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle sesame seeds over the bowl and garnish with fresh coriander or parsley, if desired. Serve warm and enjoy!
