- 500 g about 1 lb boneless chicken thighs or breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes optional, for spice
- 1/2 teaspoon salt adjust to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch optional, for coating
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil for cooking
Prepare the Chicken: In a medium bowl, coat the chicken pieces with salt, black pepper, and cornstarch (if using). This step ensures a light coating that will help the chicken crisp up when cooked.
Cook the Chicken: In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the chicken pieces and cook for 5-7 minutes, turning them occasionally until they are golden brown and fully cooked. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set it aside.
Make the Honey Butter Sauce : Reduce the heat to medium and add the butter to the skillet. Once melted, stir in the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute. Add the honey, soy sauce, paprika, and chili flakes (if using).
Combine and Serve : Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and toss to coat it evenly with the honey butter sauce. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, giving the chicken time to absorb all the flavors. Adjust salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot, garnished with fresh herbs if desired, alongside rice, noodles, or vegetables.
