  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup butter softened
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 green onions thinly sliced
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese shredded
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1-2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley or basil optional for garnish

  • Preheat the oven: Set the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil for easy cleanup.
  • Prepare the bread: Slice the ciabatta loaf in half horizontally, creating two large pieces.
  • Mix the garlic butter spread: In a medium bowl, combine the softened butter, mayonnaise, minced garlic, green onions, and pepper. Stir until all the ingredients are well mixed into a smooth spread.
  • Add the cheese: Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over both halves of the ciabatta. Then sprinkle the cheddar and mozzarella cheeses generously on top, ensuring they cover the bread completely.
  • Bake the bread: Place the bread in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted and bubbling. For an extra crispy top, broil the bread for an additional 1-2 minutes, watching carefully to avoid burning.
  • Garnish and serve: Remove from the oven and sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley or basil, if using. Slice the bread into smaller pieces and serve hot.
