- 3 cups sauerkraut drained
- 2 cups of grated cheddar cheese or you can use any cheese you prefer.
- 2 cups ground beef
- 5 garlic cloves minced
- 2 cups sour cream
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Cook the ground beef:
Warm the olive oil in a spacious skillet set over medium heat.
Stir in the minced garlic and sauté for approximately 1 minute, or until it releases its aroma.
Incorporate the ground beef into the skillet, cooking it until it turns brown while breaking it up into smaller pieces. Season with salt and pepper according to your preference. After cooking, drain off any surplus fat.
Assemble the layers:
In the prepared baking dish, spread half of the sauerkraut and sour cream mixture as the first layer.
Add the cooked ground beef as the second layer.
Top with the remaining sauerkraut mixture.
