For the Baked Brie

  • 1 piece Brie Cheese Can substitute with Camembert
  • 2 tablespoons Honey
  • 1 jar Fig Jam Can substitute with cranberry sauce or apricot preserves
  • 1/2 cup Pistachios Can substitute with walnuts or pecans
  • 2 teaspoons Fresh Thyme Can substitute with dried thyme or fresh rosemary
  • 1 loaf Bread Loaf Consider using rustic or sourdough bread

Instructions
 

Step-by-Step Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Slice off the top quarter of the bread loaf and scoop out the inner bread to create a hollow space.
  • Score the bread around the edge with incisions about 1.5 inches apart.
  • Brush the inside of the hollowed-out bread with olive oil and sprinkle with salt, pepper, and half of the thyme.
  • Place the brie in the center of the hollowed bread, top with remaining thyme and fig jam.
  • Reposition the top of the bread loaf to cover the brie and place on a lined baking sheet.
  • Bake for about 20 minutes until the brie is melty and the bread is golden brown.
  • Optionally, toast the scooped-out bread pieces while the brie bakes.
  • Serve immediately for the best flavor.

Notes

Allow brie to reach room temperature before baking for optimal creaminess. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
