Ingredients
  

  • 16 slices of bread cubed
  • 1 cup 150 g raisins (optional)
  • 1 can 12 oz / 400 g sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 1/2 cups 350 ml hot water
  • 1/3 cup 65 g brown sugar, packed
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup 60 g melted butter
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the bread: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish and spread the cubed bread evenly across the bottom.
  • Mix the wet ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk, hot water, brown sugar, eggs, melted butter, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon until well combined.
  • Pour the mixture over the bread: Slowly pour the milk mixture over the bread cubes, making sure all the bread is soaked.
  • Let it rest: Allow the mixture to sit for about 10-15 minutes to ensure the bread fully absorbs the liquid.
  • Bake the pudding: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a knife inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Serve: Let the bread pudding cool slightly before serving. It can be enjoyed warm, or you can chill it in the refrigerator for a cool treat. Serve it as is or with a drizzle of caramel or a dollop of whipped cream.
