Ingredients
  

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese divided
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper or a silicone mat to simplify cleanup.
  • Prepare the Chicken: Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt and pepper. Place the flour in a shallow dish. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs with the milk to create a smooth mixture.
  • Mix the Coating: In another shallow dish, combine the bread crumbs, half of the grated Parmesan cheese, dried Italian seasoning, minced garlic, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
  • Coat the Chicken: Dredge each chicken breast in the flour, shaking off any excess. Dip the floured chicken into the egg mixture, making sure it is fully coated. Then, press the chicken into the bread crumb mixture, coating both sides evenly and pressing down to help the crumbs adhere.
  • Pan-Sear the Chicken: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. When the oil is hot, place the breaded chicken breasts in the skillet and cook for 2 to 3 minutes per side, or until they achieve a golden brown color. You don't need to cook them all the way through at this point, just get a nice golden crust.
  • Oven Time for the Chicken: Move the browned chicken breasts onto the lined baking sheet. Sprinkle the remaining Parmesan cheese evenly over each chicken breast, followed by the shredded mozzarella cheese.
  • Bake and Melt: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through (internal temperature of 165°F or 74°C) and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Presentation: Take the chicken out of the oven and allow it to rest for several minutes before slicing and serving. Enjoy your Parmesan-Crusted Chicken with a side of pasta, a crisp salad, or steamed vegetables.
