Dough:
- 3 tubes 8 ounces each refrigerated crescent roll sheets
Filling:
- ½ cup 1 stick / 113 g unsalted butter, softened
- 1 tablespoon chives finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon garlic minced
- 3 cups 339 g mild cheddar cheese, shredded, divided
Garlic Butter:
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
- 1 teaspoon garlic minced
- 1 teaspoon chives finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
Step 1: Prepare the Filling
In a small bowl, mix softened butter, minced garlic, and chopped chives until well combined. Set aside.
Step 2: Roll Out the Dough
Step 3: Assemble the Cruffins
Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over each dough strip.
Sprinkle 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese over the buttered dough strips, reserving 1 cup for topping.
Roll each strip into a tight spiral and place the rolls upright into the muffin tin.
Step 4: Bake the Cruffins
Bake for 15–18 minutes, or until the cruffins are golden brown and puffed.
Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle the reserved cheddar cheese over the hot cruffins to melt slightly.
Step 5: Make the Garlic Butter Topping
In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Stir in minced garlic, chopped chives, and kosher salt.
Brush the garlic butter mixture over the warm cruffins for an extra layer of flavor.
Step 6: Serve
Let the cruffins cool slightly in the tin, then transfer them to a serving plate.
Serve warm and enjoy the cheesy, garlicky goodness.
