  • 4 cups about 600 g broccoli florets, steamed
  • 1 cup 120 g shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup 120 ml sour cream
  • 1/2 cup 120 ml mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup 30 g grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt or to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup 50 g breadcrumbs or crushed crackers (optional, for topping)
  • 2 tablespoons 30 g butter, melted (optional, for topping)

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the Broccoli: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Steam the broccoli florets until tender but still vibrant green, about 4–5 minutes. Drain well and set aside.
  • Mix the Creamy Base: In a large mixing bowl, combine sour cream, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, grated Parmesan, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir until smooth.
  • Assemble the Casserole: Fold the steamed broccoli into the creamy mixture, ensuring even coating. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9x13-inch (23x33 cm) baking dish.
  • Top with Cheese: Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the casserole.
  • Add the Topping (Optional): If desired, mix breadcrumbs or crushed crackers with melted butter. Sprinkle this mixture over the cheese layer for a crunchy topping.
  • Bake: Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. If using the breadcrumb topping, bake until it turns golden brown.
  • Serve and Enjoy: Remove from the oven and let rest for a few minutes. Serve hot as a side dish or a vegetarian main course.
