- 2 cans refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 2 blocks 8 ounces each cream cheese, softened to room temperature
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
Prepare the Bottom Layer: Unroll one can of crescent roll dough and carefully press it into the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Pinch together any seams to form a solid layer of dough.
Make the Cream Cheese Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, 1 cup of sugar, and vanilla extract. Use an electric mixer (or a whisk) to blend until smooth and creamy.
Assemble the Casserole: Spread the cream cheese filling evenly over the layer of crescent roll dough. Unroll the second can of crescent roll dough and gently lay it on top of the cream cheese layer, pressing the seams together to create a smooth surface.
Add the Cinnamon-Sugar Topping: Brush the top layer of dough with melted butter. In a small bowl, mix the ground cinnamon with 2 tablespoons of sugar. Sprinkle the mixture evenly over the melted butter.
Bake the Casserole: Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the filling is set.
Cool and Serve: Allow the casserole to cool for at least 10 minutes before slicing into squares or bars. Serve warm or at room temperature for the best flavor and texture.
