- 1 tablespoon oil
- 500 g minced beef
- 2 teaspoons beef stock powder
- 1 teaspoon curry powder
- 1 packet chicken noodle soup mix
- ½ cup uncooked rice
- 1 cup water
- ½ small cabbage shredded
Brown the Beef : Heat the oil in a large skillet or wok over medium heat. Add the minced beef and cook, breaking it up with a spatula, until browned and cooked through. Drain any excess fat if necessary.
Add Seasonings and Base Ingredients : Sprinkle the beef stock powder and curry powder over the browned beef. Stir to coat the meat evenly. Add the chicken noodle soup mix, uncooked rice, and 1 cup of water to the pan. Stir well to combine.
Cook the Rice : Reduce the heat to low, cover the skillet with a lid, and let it simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the rice is cooked and has absorbed most of the liquid. If needed, add a little more water to ensure the rice cooks evenly.
Add the Cabbage : Once the rice is tender, stir in the shredded cabbage. Cover the skillet again and cook for another 5–7 minutes, or until the cabbage is softened but still slightly crisp. Taste and adjust the seasoning with salt and freshly ground black pepper, if needed.
Serve : Serve the Beef and Cabbage Chow Mein warm as a complete meal. Garnish with chopped green onions or a drizzle of soy sauce for extra flavor, if desired.
