Ingredients

  • 4 cups broccoli florets about 2 medium heads
  • ½ cup cooked bacon crumbled (6–8 slices)
  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil for greasing the baking dish

Instructions

  • Heat the Oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a medium baking dish with olive oil.
  • Blanch the Broccoli: Boil a pot of water and add the broccoli florets. Cook for 2–3 minutes, just until they turn vibrant green and begin to soften. Drain well and set aside.
  • Make the Creamy Sauce : In a large mixing bowl, combine the sour cream, mayonnaise, garlic powder, onion powder, and a pinch of salt and black pepper. Mix until smooth.
  • Assemble the Casserole : Add the blanched broccoli to the bowl with the sauce. Toss to coat the broccoli evenly. Transfer the cooked broccoli to the prepared baking dish. Evenly distribute the crumbled bacon on top, then cover with a generous layer of shredded cheddar cheese.
  • Bake : Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and slightly golden.
  • Enjoy: Take the dish out of the oven and allow it to cool for a few minutes. Serve as a flavorful side to enhance your main course.
