  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • ¼ teaspoon finely ground black pepper (adjust to taste)
  • ⅛ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1½ cups finely shredded cheddar cheese (divided)
  • 2 tablespoons butter, sliced into ¼-inch thick pieces
  • Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven

    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
    • Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish or a similar-sized casserole dish.
  • Prepare the Zucchini

    • Slice the zucchinis into ¼-inch thick half moons.
    • Arrange the zucchini slices evenly in the prepared baking dish.
    • Sprinkle with ¼ teaspoon salt and toss to combine.
  • Prepare the Egg Mixture

    • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, eggs, Parmesan cheese, garlic, dried basil, black pepper, and nutmeg.
    • Mix well to combine all the ingredients.
  • Assemble the Casserole

    • Pour the egg mixture evenly over the zucchini slices.
    • Sprinkle 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese over the top.
