Description

Crunchy, smoky, sweet, and spicy, these Sweet and Savory Bacon Crackers are the ultimate snack for any occasion. Easy to customize with optional toppings like Parmesan cheese, jalapeños, or hot honey, they’re sure to be a hit at your next party or game night!

Ingredients

  • Club crackers (as many as you’d like to make)
  • Bacon (cut each slice in half to fit the crackers)
  • Brown sugar (about 1 teaspoon per cracker)
  • Cracked black pepper (to taste)
  • Parmesan cheese (for added savory flavor)
  • Red pepper flakes or cayenne pepper (for heat)
  • Sliced jalapeños (for a spicy kick)
  • Hot honey (for a sweet and spicy drizzle)

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil for easy cleanup.
  • Assemble the Crackers: Place the club crackers in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Sprinkle each cracker with 1 teaspoon of brown sugar and a dash of cracked black pepper.
  • Add Bacon: Lay half a slice of bacon on top of each cracker, wrapping it securely. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese if desired.
  • Bake: Bake the crackers for 15–20 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and the brown sugar has caramelized. Keep an eye on them during the last few minutes to prevent burning.
  • Add Heat (Optional): If desired, sprinkle with red pepper flakes or cayenne pepper before baking, or top each cracker with a slice of jalapeño.
  • Finish with Hot Honey (Optional): Drizzle the crackers with hot honey immediately after they come out of the oven for a sweet and spicy finish.
  • Serve: Let the crackers cool slightly, then transfer them to a serving plate. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

  • Regular bacon crisps better than thick-cut bacon.
  • Adjust the spice level to suit your taste by using more or less cayenne pepper or jalapeños.
  • For best results, space the crackers evenly to allow proper cooking.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. Reheat in the oven for optimal crispiness.
