Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground sausage (any variety)
  • 1 package (8 oz cream cheese, softened)
  • 2 cans (8 oz each refrigerated crescent roll dough)
  • 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder (optional)
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  • Cook Sausage: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned and fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.
  • Combine Cream Cheese and Seasonings: Reduce the heat and stir in the softened cream cheese until melted and combined with the sausage. Add garlic powder, onion powder, and salt and pepper to taste.
  • Prepare Crescent Roll Base: Open one can of crescent roll dough and press it into the bottom of the baking dish, sealing any perforations.
  • Layer Sausage Mixture: Evenly spread the sausage and cream cheese mixture over the crescent roll layer. If desired, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.
  • Add Top Crescent Layer: Open the second can of crescent roll dough and carefully lay it over the sausage mixture, sealing any gaps.
  • Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 15–20 minutes, or until the top layer is golden brown and cooked through.
  • Cool and Serve: Allow the bake to cool slightly, then cut into squares. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • Customize Your Bake: Add diced vegetables like bell peppers, mushrooms, or spinach to the sausage mixture for extra flavor and nutrients.
  • Cheese Options: Substitute cheddar with mozzarella, pepper jack, or your favorite cheese for a unique twist.
  • Make Ahead: Assemble the bake and refrigerate for up to 24 hours. Bake fresh when ready to serve.
  • Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave.
