  • 5 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 100 grams (3.5 oz) mozzarella cheese, grated
  • Pepper, paprika, garlic powder, ginger (to taste)
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

Prepare the Potatoes and Cabbage

  • Boil the potatoes in salted water until soft. Drain and let cool slightly.
  • Mash the potatoes in a large mixing bowl until smooth.
  • Chop the cabbage finely, sprinkle with a little salt, and let sit for 10 minutes. Squeeze out excess moisture.

Prepare the Mixture

  • Add the cabbage, grated carrot, chopped red onions, crushed garlic, and green pepper to the mashed potatoes.
  • Season with salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and ginger to taste.
  • Stir in the flour and baking powder until well combined.
  • Add the egg and mix until incorporated.
  • Fold in the grated mozzarella cheese and mix evenly.

Form the Patties

  • Take small portions of the mixture and shape them into flat, round patties.

Fry the Patties

  • Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Fry the patties for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
  • Remove and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.

Serve

  • Enjoy hot and crispy, garnished with fresh herbs or a side of your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • For a gluten-free version, use rice flour instead of wheat flour.
  • To make it spicier, add red pepper flakes or chili powder.
  • If you prefer a healthier option, bake at 400°F (200°C) for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway.
