Enjoy the delicious medley of sharp cheddar cheese, savory olives, and smoky ham in this quick and effortless bread. Perfect for brunch, picnics, or as a flavorful snack, this bread requires no yeast or long waiting times—just mix, bake, and enjoy!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 4 large eggs
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • ½ cup dry white wine
  • ¾ cup green or black pitted olives (sliced)
  • ½ cup ham or bacon (chopped small)
  • 1 red bell pepper (chopped small)
  • 1 ½ cups mild cheddar cheese (shredded)
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan and line it with parchment paper.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Prepare Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs, vegetable oil, and white wine until smooth.
  4. Combine Ingredients: Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture. Stir gently until just combined.
  5. Add Fillings: Fold in the sliced olives, ham or bacon, red bell pepper, and shredded cheddar cheese until evenly distributed.
  6. Bake the Bread: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Smooth the top and bake for 40–50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Cool and Serve: Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack. Slice and serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

  • Substitute white wine with milk or buttermilk if desired.
  • You can use other cheeses like Gouda or Swiss for a different flavor profile.
  • For a vegetarian version, replace ham or bacon with sautéed mushrooms or spinach.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
