- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 4 large eggs
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- ½ cup dry white wine
- ¾ cup green or black pitted olives (sliced)
- ½ cup ham or bacon (chopped small)
- 1 red bell pepper (chopped small)
- 1 ½ cups mild cheddar cheese (shredded)
- ¼ teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan and line it with parchment paper.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Prepare Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs, vegetable oil, and white wine until smooth.
- Combine Ingredients: Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture. Stir gently until just combined.
- Add Fillings: Fold in the sliced olives, ham or bacon, red bell pepper, and shredded cheddar cheese until evenly distributed.
- Bake the Bread: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Smooth the top and bake for 40–50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool and Serve: Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack. Slice and serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
- Substitute white wine with milk or buttermilk if desired.
- You can use other cheeses like Gouda or Swiss for a different flavor profile.
- For a vegetarian version, replace ham or bacon with sautéed mushrooms or spinach.
