- ½ teaspoon kosher salt (Morton)
- ¾ cup 178 ml whole milk
- ⅓ cup 80 g sour cream

- 6 ounces 1 ½ cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

Instructions
Prep the Oven and Muffin Tin
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Line a 12-cup muffin tin with paper liners or lightly grease with butter.
Mix the Dry Ingredients
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, granulated garlic, onion powder, and kosher salt until well combined.
Combine the Wet Ingredients
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, sour cream, melted butter, and egg until smooth.
Make the Batter
- Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients.
- Stir gently until just combined—avoid overmixing to ensure fluffy muffins.
Add Cheese and Bacon
- Fold in the shredded cheddar cheese and crumbled bacon.
- Mix until evenly incorporated throughout the batter.
Fill the Muffin Cups
- Use a spoon or ice cream scoop to divide the batter evenly among the prepared muffin cups.
- Fill each cup about ¾ full.
Bake
- Bake in the preheated oven for 18–22 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean.
Cool and Serve
- Let the muffins cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
- Cheese Options: Sharp cheddar is recommended for its robust flavor, but you can use Gouda, Monterey Jack, or pepper jack for variety.
- Bacon Tips: Cook bacon until crispy for the best texture and crumble into small pieces.
- Spice it Up: Add diced jalapeños or a pinch of cayenne pepper for a kick of heat.
- Gluten-Free Option: Use a 1:1 gluten-free flour substitute.
