Description
Ingredients
- All-purpose flour (the base of the dough)
- Instant yeast (helps the dough rise quickly)
- Kosher salt (enhances the flavor)
- Lukewarm water (for activating the yeast)
- Olive oil (adds richness and a golden crust)
- Butter (for greasing the baking dish)
- Minced garlic (optional, for a savory kick)
- Fresh rosemary leaves (optional, for a classic herbaceous aroma)
Instructions
- Mix the Dough: In a bowl, whisk together flour, instant yeast, and salt. Add lukewarm water and mix until a sticky dough forms.
- First Rise: Lightly coat the dough with olive oil to prevent sticking. Cover and let it rest for 1½ hours at room temperature until it doubles in size.
- Prepare the Baking Dish: Grease a 9-inch dish with butter and olive oil. Place the dough inside, rolling it in the oil to coat. Let it rest for 30 minutes.
- Shape and Season: Drizzle olive oil over the dough and add garlic and rosemary. Press down with greased fingers to create deep dimples.
- Bake: Sprinkle with kosher salt and bake at 425°F for 25 minutes, until golden brown. Let cool for 10 minutes before slicing.
