  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon honey or brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Serving Options:

  • Steamed rice or noodles
  • Sesame seeds or chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  • Prepare the Sauce
    • In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, water, rice vinegar, honey (or brown sugar), garlic, ginger, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes (if using).
    • Set the sauce aside.
  • Cook the Beef
    • Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
    • Add the sliced flank steak and stir-fry for 2–3 minutes, until browned and just cooked through.
    • Remove the beef from the skillet and set it aside.
  • Stir-Fry the Vegetables
    • In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil.
    • Add the sliced bell peppers and onion. Stir-fry for 4–5 minutes, until the vegetables are tender but still crisp.
  • Combine Everything
    • Return the cooked beef to the skillet with the vegetables.
    • Pour in the prepared sauce and stir to coat all ingredients evenly.
    • Cook for an additional 2–3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.
  • Serve and Enjoy
    • Remove from heat and serve hot over steamed rice or noodles.
    • Garnish with sesame seeds or chopped green onions for added flavor and presentation.
