Description

A delicious and savory bread featuring olives, bacon, and cheese, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup cooked and crumbled bacon (about 6 slices)
  • 1/2 cup pitted green olives, chopped
  • 1/4 cup pitted black olives, chopped
  • 1/4 cup green onions, sliced

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the melted butter, milk, and egg until well combined.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  5. Fold in the cheddar cheese, bacon, green olives, black olives, and green onions until evenly distributed.
  6. Transfer the batter to the prepared loaf pan and spread it evenly.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • For a twist, try adding different types of cheese such as feta or mozzarella for varied flavor.
  • You can also substitute the bacon with cooked sausage or turkey bacon for a lighter option.
