Ingredients
Scale
- 2 lbs chicken breast
- 16 oz bowtie pasta
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 2 cups chicken stock
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- 1/2 cup sundried tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
- 1 shallot, sliced
Instructions
- Season the Chicken
Mix salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika in a small bowl. Rub the seasoning evenly on both sides of the chicken breasts. - Cook the Pasta
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook bowtie pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside, reserving 1 cup of pasta water for later. - Sear the Chicken
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned chicken and cook for 5 minutes on one side without moving. Flip and cook for another 5–7 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C). Remove from the skillet and let rest. - Prepare the Sauce Base
In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium. Add butter and let it melt. Toss in the sliced shallot and sauté for 1–2 minutes until softened. Sprinkle in flour and stir constantly to coat the shallots evenly. - Build the Sauce
Gradually pour in the chicken stock, stirring well after each addition to thicken the sauce. Add sundried tomatoes and Italian seasoning, and let the flavors meld for 2–3 minutes. - Finish the Sauce
Turn off the heat and stir in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese. Stir until the cheese is melted and the sauce is creamy. Taste and adjust with salt and pepper as needed. - Combine Pasta and Sauce
Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat evenly in the sauce. If needed, use reserved pasta water to adjust the sauce’s consistency. - Serve with Chicken
Slice the seared chicken and place it on top of the pasta. Garnish with fresh parsley or additional Parmesan cheese for a finishing touch. Serve hot and enjoy!
