Bring a splash of color and creaminess to your table with this Fruit Salad with Pudding. It’s the perfect blend of juicy fruits, fluffy marshmallows, and velvety pudding, making it a standout dish for any occasion. Whether you serve it as a light dessert or a sweet side dish, this recipe is a guaranteed crowd-pleaser!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 oz refrigerated vanilla pudding
  • ½ cup Cool Whip
  • 1 cup grapes, halved
  • 11 oz can mandarin oranges, drained
  • 8 oz can pineapple tidbits, drained
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows

Instructions

1. Prepare the Fruits

  • Halve the Grapes: Rinse the grapes thoroughly, then slice each grape in half. Set aside.
  • Slice the Strawberries: Wash and hull the strawberries. Slice them into thin pieces and set aside.
  • Drain the Canned Fruits: Open the cans of mandarin oranges and pineapple tidbits, then drain thoroughly to remove any excess juice.

2. Mix the Pudding and Cool Whip

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the refrigerated vanilla pudding and Cool Whip.
  • Stir the mixture until it becomes smooth, creamy, and fully blended.

3. Combine All Ingredients

  • Add the halved grapes, sliced strawberries, drained mandarin oranges, and pineapple tidbits to the pudding mixture.
  • Gently fold the fruits into the pudding mixture to ensure even coating.
  • Finally, add the mini marshmallows and stir gently until evenly distributed.

4. Chill the Salad

  • Cover the mixing bowl with plastic wrap or transfer the salad to an airtight container.
  • Refrigerate for at least 1 hour. Chilling allows the flavors to meld and gives the salad its refreshing texture.

5. Serve

  • Serve the fruit salad cold as a light dessert or a sweet side dish.
  • For an extra touch, garnish with a sprig of mint or a few whole strawberries.

Notes

  • Adjust the Sweetness: If you prefer a sweeter salad, add a drizzle of honey or a sprinkle of powdered sugar.
  • Add Bananas with Care: Bananas can be added for extra flavor, but add them just before serving to prevent browning.
  • Use Fresh Fruits: Fresh fruits make this dish shine, but canned fruits like peaches or cherries can be used as substitutes.
