Ingredients
Scale
For the Creamy Sriracha Dip:
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons Sriracha
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
For the Beer-Battered Fried Green Beans:
- 1¼ pounds fresh green beans, washed and trimmed
- 2½ cups all-purpose flour, divided
- ½ teaspoon cumin
- ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 cups beer (lager or pilsner)
- Vegetable oil, for frying
Instructions
- Prepare the Green Beans – Wash and trim the ends of the green beans. Pat them dry with a paper towel to help the batter stick.
- Make the Sriracha Dip – In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, Sriracha, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt. Stir well and refrigerate.
- Mix Dry Ingredients – In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of flour, cumin, cayenne, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt. Stir to distribute evenly.
- Add the Beer – Slowly pour the beer into the dry ingredients, whisking constantly until a smooth batter forms.
- Set Up a Dredging Station – Place the remaining ½ cup of flour in a shallow dish. Dredge each green bean in flour, then dip into the beer batter.
- Heat the Oil – In a deep frying pan or pot, heat vegetable oil to 375°F (190°C).
- Fry the Green Beans – Fry a few battered green beans at a time for 2–3 minutes, flipping occasionally until golden and crispy.
- Drain & Serve – Use a slotted spoon to remove the fried green beans and place them on a paper towel. Serve hot with the creamy Sriracha dip.
Notes
- Beer Choice – A light lager or pilsner keeps the batter crisp without adding bitterness.
- Keep Batter Cold – Cold batter creates a lighter, crispier coating. Chill it if needed.
- Frying in Batches – Avoid overcrowding to maintain oil temperature for the crispiest texture.
- Reheating – To keep them crispy, reheat leftovers in an air fryer or oven at 375°F (190°C).
