Description

Crispy, golden-brown beer-battered fried green beans with a spicy creamy Sriracha dip make the perfect appetizer or snack. These crunchy bites are packed with flavor, thanks to a light and airy beer batter infused with warm spices. Serve them hot with a bold, creamy dip for an irresistible treat!

Ingredients

Scale

For the Creamy Sriracha Dip:

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons Sriracha
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

For the Beer-Battered Fried Green Beans:

  • pounds fresh green beans, washed and trimmed
  • 2½ cups all-purpose flour, divided
  • ½ teaspoon cumin
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups beer (lager or pilsner)
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Green Beans – Wash and trim the ends of the green beans. Pat them dry with a paper towel to help the batter stick.
  2. Make the Sriracha Dip – In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, Sriracha, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt. Stir well and refrigerate.
  3. Mix Dry Ingredients – In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of flour, cumin, cayenne, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt. Stir to distribute evenly.
  4. Add the Beer – Slowly pour the beer into the dry ingredients, whisking constantly until a smooth batter forms.
  5. Set Up a Dredging Station – Place the remaining ½ cup of flour in a shallow dish. Dredge each green bean in flour, then dip into the beer batter.
  6. Heat the Oil – In a deep frying pan or pot, heat vegetable oil to 375°F (190°C).
  7. Fry the Green Beans – Fry a few battered green beans at a time for 2–3 minutes, flipping occasionally until golden and crispy.
  8. Drain & Serve – Use a slotted spoon to remove the fried green beans and place them on a paper towel. Serve hot with the creamy Sriracha dip.

Notes

  • Beer Choice – A light lager or pilsner keeps the batter crisp without adding bitterness.
  • Keep Batter Cold – Cold batter creates a lighter, crispier coating. Chill it if needed.
  • Frying in Batches – Avoid overcrowding to maintain oil temperature for the crispiest texture.
  • Reheating – To keep them crispy, reheat leftovers in an air fryer or oven at 375°F (190°C).
