Description

This easy peach cobbler is the perfect Southern dessert—juicy, sweet peaches baked under a light, golden crust. The warm flavors of caramelized peaches and a crisp, airy topping make it an irresistible treat. Whether you’re baking for a summer BBQ, a holiday dinner, or just because, this homemade peach cobbler recipe is simple and delicious!

Ingredients

Scale

For the Peach Filling:

  • 68 ripe peaches, peeled and sliced
  • 2½ Tbsp cornstarch
  • ¾1 cup granulated sugar

For the Crust:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large egg yolks (room temperature)
  • ¼ cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large egg whites (beaten until stiff)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Peach Filling – Peel and slice the peaches, then mix with cornstarch and sugar in a bowl. Let sit for 10 minutes.
  • Preheat the Oven – Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  • Make the Crust – In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, and baking powder. Stir in egg yolks and melted butter. In a separate bowl, beat egg whites until stiff, then fold into the batter.
  • Assemble the Cobbler – Pour the peach filling into the baking dish. Drop spoonfuls of the crust batter over the top.
  • Bake – Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the filling is bubbling.
  • Cool & Serve – Let cool for 10–15 minutes, then serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

  • Use fresh, ripe peaches for the best flavor.
  • For a crispier crust, sprinkle a little extra sugar on top before baking.
  • Make it gluten-free by using gluten-free flour instead of all-purpose flour.
