Description

This Easy Ham and Cheese Frittata is a delicious and satisfying one-pan meal perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a light dinner. Made with savory ham, melted cheddar cheese, and fluffy eggs, it’s protein-packed, low-carb, and ready in just 30 minutes. Whether you’re meal prepping or feeding a crowd, this frittata is a quick and effortless dish that everyone will love!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 large eggs
  • 60 ml water
  • 120 g sharp cheddar cheese (shredded)
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Black pepper (to taste)
  • 80 g onion (diced)
  • 150 g ham (diced)
  • 2 tablespoons butter (about 28g)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare the Egg Mixture: In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, water, salt, and black pepper until well combined. Set aside.
  3. Sauté the Onion and Ham: In an oven-safe skillet (about 10 inches), melt the butter over medium heat. Add the diced onion and cook for 2-3 minutes until it’s softened and slightly golden. Add the diced ham and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the ham is heated through and lightly browned.
  4. Add Cheese and Eggs: Spread the ham and onions evenly in the skillet. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the ham and onions, then pour the egg mixture into the skillet.
  5. Bake the Frittata: Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the frittata is puffed and the center is set. (To check, gently shake the skillet—if the center doesn’t jiggle, it’s done.)
  6. Serve: Remove the frittata from the oven and allow it to cool slightly. Slice into wedges and serve warm. Enjoy as is, or with a side of fresh greens or toast.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of garlic powder or smoked paprika to the egg mixture.
  • Substitute the cheddar with Swiss, mozzarella, or gouda for a different cheese variation.
  • Make it dairy-free by using olive oil instead of butter and a dairy-free cheese alternative.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.
