Description

When snack cravings hit, satisfy them with these Crunchy Avocado Chips! This easy-to-make recipe transforms a ripe avocado into crispy, cheesy, and savory chips. Perfect for low-carb, keto, and gluten-free diets, these chips are baked to golden perfection and bursting with flavor. They’re a healthier alternative to store-bought chips, and they’ll quickly become your favorite go-to snack!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large ripe avocado
  • ¾ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Kosher salt (to taste)
  • Freshly ground black pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven

    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
    • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and for easy cleanup.
  • Prepare the Avocado Mixture

    • In a medium bowl, mash the avocado until smooth and creamy.
    • Add the Parmesan cheese, lemon juice, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning to the mashed avocado.
    • Season the mixture with kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
    • Stir until all ingredients are evenly combined.
  • Shape the Chips

    • Using a spoon or small cookie scoop, scoop small mounds of the avocado mixture onto the prepared baking sheet.
    • Flatten each mound with the back of a spoon to form thin, even circles, about 1/8 inch thick.
    • Ensure the chips are spaced apart to allow for even baking.
  • Bake the Chips

    • Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the chips are golden brown and crispy around the edges.
    • Keep an eye on them during the last few minutes to avoid burning.
  • Cool and Serve

    • Remove the baking sheet from the oven and let the chips cool completely on the parchment paper.
    • Once cooled, transfer the chips to a serving plate and enjoy!

Notes

  • Avocado Ripeness: Use a ripe but firm avocado for the best results. An overly soft avocado may make the chips too wet and harder to crisp.
  • Storage: Store leftover chips in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
  • Recrisping: If the chips lose their crispiness, reheat them in the oven for a few minutes.
  • Customizable Seasoning: Feel free to experiment with spices like smoked paprika, chili powder, or cayenne for added heat and flavor.
