Ingredients
Scale
- 300 g cabbage (finely shredded)
- 1 medium carrot (grated)
- 2 green onions (finely chopped)
- 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Oil (for frying)
Instructions
- Prepare Vegetables: In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded cabbage, grated carrot, and chopped green onions. Mix well.
- Add Dry and Wet Ingredients: Sprinkle the sesame seeds, all-purpose flour, salt, and black pepper over the vegetables. Crack the eggs into the bowl and add the soy sauce. Stir until all ingredients are well combined and the mixture holds together slightly when pressed.
- Heat the Oil: Heat a thin layer of oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Make sure the oil is hot before adding the batter to ensure a crisp texture.
- Form and Fry the Fritters: Scoop a small portion of the cabbage mixture, about 2 tablespoons, and carefully place it in the hot oil, flattening it slightly to form a round fritter. Repeat with additional portions, leaving space between each fritter.
- Cook Until Golden: Fry the fritters for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy. Modify the heat as needed to prevent burning.
- Remove Excess Oil: Take the fritters out of the pan and transfer them to a plate lined with paper towels to absorb any extra oil.
- Serve: Garnish with additional sesame seeds or green onions, if desired. Serve warm with a dipping sauce like soy sauce, spicy mayo, or sweet chili sauce. Enjoy!
Notes
- Cabbage: Freshly shredded cabbage gives the best crunch.
- Customizations: Add grated zucchini or bell peppers for extra flavor.
- Dipping Sauce: Pair with soy-sesame or sweet chili for an added punch.
