A delicious vegan take on classic buffalo wingsfeaturing crispy, breaded tofu coated in a spicy buffalo sauce. These bakedwings are perfect for dipping and enjoying with friends!

Tofu Wings
- 1 lb extra firm or super firm tofu (pressed and cubed)
- 6 tablespoons cornstarch (arrowroot, or tapioca starch)
- ¼ cup plant milk
Bread Crumb Mixture
- 1 cup panko style bread crumbs
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon salt
- Freshly ground black pepper (to taste)
- 1 tablespoon fresh minced parsley
Buffalo Sauce
- 6 tablespoons 90g red cayenne pepper hot sauce (ideally Frank’s RedHot)
- 3 tablespoons 35g vegan butter
- ⅛ teaspoon granulated garlic
- ⅛ teaspoon salt
To Serve
- Vegan bleu cheese or ranch dressing
Instructions
- Press the Tofu: Press the tofu to remove excess water. After pressing the tofu, slice it into bite-sized cubes or strips, based on your personal preference.
- Coating Station 1: Place the starch (cornstarch, arrowroot, or tapioca) in a shallow bowl.
- Coating Station 2: Pour the plant milk into a separate shallow bowl.
- Coating Station 3: In a third shallow bowl, mix together the panko breadcrumbs, olive oil, paprika, salt, black pepper, and minced parsley until evenly combined.
- Coat the Tofu: Dip each tofu piece in the starch, shaking off any excess. Then, dip it into the plant milk and finally into the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere the breadcrumbs. Place each breaded piece onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake the tofu wings for 25–30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy.
- Melt the Butter and Mix: In a small saucepan, melt the vegan butter over low heat. Add the hot sauce, granulated garlic, and salt, stirring until well combined. Keep warm until ready to use.
- Toss in Sauce: Place the baked tofu wings in a large bowl. Pour the warm buffalo sauce over the wings and gently toss until each piece is evenly coated.
- Serve with Dressing: Serve the buffalo tofu wings hot with a side of vegan bleu cheese or ranch dressing for dipping. Enjoy!
