For the Coating:
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 egg
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1–2 cups Panko bread crumbs
- 2+ cups vegetable oil (for frying)
Instructions
- Prepare the Filling
- In a large mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, diced avocado, crumbled bacon, cheddar, and Pepper Jack cheese.
- Stir in jalapeños, green onions, cilantro, red onions, garlic salt, Cajun seasoning, black pepper, and lime juice.
- Mix until fully combined.
- Shape the Bites
- Roll the mixture into small bite-sized balls and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Freeze for 30-45 minutes until firm.
- Prepare the Coating
- Coat the Bites
- Roll each frozen bite in flour, then dip into the buttermilk and egg mixture.
- Coat evenly with Panko bread crumbs, pressing lightly to ensure a crispy exterior.
- Fry the Bites
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or fryer to 350°F (175°C).
