Ingredients

Scale

For the Cake:

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup white granulated sugar
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups milk
  • ½ cup (1 stick) salted butter, melted

For the Cinnamon Filling:

  • ¾ cup (1 ½ sticks) salted butter, softened
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

For the Glaze:

  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 5 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
    • Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the Cake Batter
    • In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and baking powder.
    • Add eggs, vanilla extract, and milk. Stir until combined.
    • Gradually mix in the melted butter until the batter is smooth. Avoid overmixing.
  3. Pour the Batter
    • Pour the cake batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly with a spatula.
  4. Make the Cinnamon Filling
    • In a small bowl, mix softened butter, brown sugar, flour, and cinnamon until smooth.
    • Drop spoonfuls of the cinnamon filling over the batter.
  5. Create Swirls
    • Use a butter knife to swirl the cinnamon filling into the batter, creating a marbled effect.
  6. Bake the Cake
    • Bake the cake for 35–40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Prepare the Glaze
    • While the cake bakes, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a medium bowl. Adjust consistency by adding more milk or powdered sugar if needed.
  8. Glaze the Cake
    • Once the cake is out of the oven, let it cool for 5–10 minutes.
    • Pour the glaze over the warm cake, spreading it evenly.
  9. Serve and Enjoy
    • Slice the cake and serve warm for the ultimate cinnamon roll experience.
