Description

  • 1 large egg
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Cinnamon Coating:

  • ⅓ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted

For the Glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Prepare the Dough
    • In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
    • Add warm milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
    • Mix until a dough forms.
  • Knead the Dough
    • Transfer to a lightly floured surface and knead for 8-10 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
    • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  • Shape the Knots
    • Punch down the dough and divide it into 8-10 equal pieces.
    • Roll each piece into a rope and tie it into a knot.
    • Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Second Rise
    • Cover and let knots rise for another 30 minutes.
    • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Coat with Cinnamon Sugar
    • Mix sugar and cinnamon in a bowl.
    • Brush knots with melted butter, then roll in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  • Bake the Knots
    • Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • Make the Glaze
    • Whisk together powdered sugar, cream cheese, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Drizzle and Serve
    • Drizzle warm knots with glaze and enjoy!
