- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 small head of green cabbage, chopped (about 4 cups)
- 1 can (15 ounces) diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1 cup cooked rice (white or brown)
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with the chopped onion and minced garlic until the beef is no longer pink. Drain excess fat.
- Add the chopped cabbage to the skillet and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly wilted.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes, cooked rice, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let it cool for 5 minutes before serving.

- For a spicier kick, add ½ teaspoon of red pepper flakes to the beef mixture.
- You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
- For a vegetarian version, replace the ground beef with a mix of black beans and lentils.
