Experience the magic of bakery-style blueberry muffins at home! These fluffy, tender muffins are bursting with juicy blueberries and topped with a golden crumb topping. Perfect for breakfast, snack time, or dessert, they’re easy to make and guaranteed to impress!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted and cooled)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup buttermilk (or 1 cup milk with 1 tablespoon vinegar)
  • 1 1/2 cups fresh or frozen blueberries

Crumb Topping:

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a 12-cup muffin tin with paper liners.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Combine Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk the melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and buttermilk until smooth.
  4. Make the Batter: Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients. Stir until just combined. Toss blueberries with a tablespoon of flour to prevent sinking, then gently fold them into the batter.
  5. Prepare Crumb Topping: In a small bowl, mix flour, sugar, softened butter, cinnamon, and salt with a fork until crumbly.
  6. Fill Muffin Cups: Divide the batter evenly among the muffin cups, filling them about 3/4 full. Sprinkle crumb topping generously on each muffin.
  7. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 20–25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Cool: Allow muffins to cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
