Description

Baked Ham and Cheese Sliders are the ultimate crowd-pleasers! Perfectly soft rolls filled with savory ham, melty cheddar cheese, and topped with a sweet and savory buttery glaze, these sliders are ideal for game days, potlucks, or quick family dinners. Easy to make and loaded with flavor, they’re sure to be a hit every time you serve them.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 slider rolls (Hawaiian rolls or any soft rolls)
  • 1 pound deli ham, thinly sliced
  • 8 ounces cheddar cheese, sliced
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon poppy seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish or line it with aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
  2. Prepare the Slider Rolls:
    • Slice the slider rolls in half horizontally while keeping the rolls connected. Place the bottom halves in the prepared baking dish.
  3. Layer the Ham and Cheese:
    • Arrange an even layer of sliced ham over the bottom rolls.
    • Top with slices of cheddar cheese.
    • Place the top halves of the rolls back on.
  4. Make the Butter Topping:
    • In a small bowl, combine melted butter, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, poppy seeds, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until well combined.
  5. Brush the Topping:
    • Generously brush the butter mixture over the tops of the rolls, ensuring they’re evenly coated.
  6. Bake the Sliders:
    • Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 15 minutes.
    • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  7. Serve and Enjoy:
    • Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, and slice the sliders apart. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  1. Use Hawaiian Rolls: Their slight sweetness pairs perfectly with the savory filling, but any soft rolls will work.
  2. Experiment with Cheese: Sharp cheddar adds bold flavor, but Swiss or provolone are great alternatives.
  3. Prep Ahead: Assemble the sliders and butter topping separately. Store in the fridge and bake when ready.
  4. Add Crunch: Sprinkle crushed fried onions or breadcrumbs on top of the butter glaze for added texture.
  5. Customize Fillings: Swap ham for turkey, roast beef, or pulled pork for variety.
