Ingredients
Scale
- ⅓ cup unsalted butter (at room temperature)
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 2 green onions (thinly sliced)
- 1 tablespoon honey
- ½ teaspoon sea salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 12 mini croissants (halved horizontally)
- 1 pound thinly sliced smoked deli ham
- 12 slices Swiss cheese (diagonally sliced)
- 1 large egg white
- 2 teaspoons poppy seeds
Instructions
- Prepare the Dijon Butter Glaze: In a small bowl, combine the butter, Dijon mustard, green onions, honey, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth and well-combined.
- Assemble the Croissants: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Arrange the bottom halves of the croissants on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Spread a small amount of the Dijon butter glaze on each half, then layer with ham and a slice of Swiss cheese. Crown the filling by placing the top half of the croissant on top.
- Brush with Egg Wash: In a small bowl, beat the egg white with a splash of water. Brush the tops of the croissants with the egg wash, then sprinkle with poppy seeds.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the croissants are golden brown.
- Serve: Allow the croissants to cool for a couple of minutes before serving. Enjoy warm for the best flavor.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, bake the croissants on a wire rack.
- Use high-quality ham for the best flavor.
- If you prefer a stronger Dijon taste, add an extra teaspoon of mustard.
- Leftovers? Store in an airtight container and reheat in the oven.
