Perfect as a snack, appetizer, or side dish, this recipe is simple to make and bursting with flavor. Whether you’re a fan of avocados or just looking for a unique treat, these fries will quickly become a favorite!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ripe avocados (sliced in half, then lengthwise)
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs (beaten)
  • ¾ cup bread crumbs
  • 1 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • Extra sea salt for sprinkling

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven

    • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
    • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or apply a light coating of cooking spray.
  • Set Up Breading Stations

    • Prepare three shallow bowls: one with the flour, one with the beaten eggs, and one with the bread crumbs mixed with sea salt, garlic powder, and pepper.
  • Slice the Avocados

    • Cut the avocados in half, remove the pits, and slice each half lengthwise into thick wedges.
  • Bread the Avocado Slices

    • Dredge each avocado slice in the flour, shaking off any excess.
    • Dip the slice into the beaten eggs, allowing any excess to drip off.
    • Coat the slice in the seasoned bread crumb mixture, pressing gently to ensure the crumbs stick well.
  • Bake the Fries

    • Arrange the breaded avocado slices in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they don’t touch.
    • Bake for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
  • Serve

    • Sprinkle the hot avocado fries with extra sea salt, if desired.
    • Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce, such as ranch, spicy mayo, or garlic aioli.

Notes

  • Use firm but ripe avocados to ensure the slices hold their shape.
  • For a crunchier texture, substitute regular bread crumbs with panko crumbs.
  • These fries are best enjoyed fresh but can be reheated in an oven or air fryer.
